WASHINGTON, D.C. Congressman Roger Williams (R-TX-25) reintroduced the Ensuring Telehealth Expansion Act (H.R. 341) to permanently extend telehealth provisions in the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Securities (CARES) Act. The legislation would also eliminate site restrictions for telehealth so that patients can receive care in their homes, and providers will be reimbursed at payment rates the same as face-to-face visits.

Congressman Roger Williams (R-TX-25) today applauded the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' (HHS) distribution of the second round of performance payments to nursing homes. Since the first round of funding was allocated to Texas, nursing homes have successfully reduced COVID-19 infections and deaths between September-October. 684 facilities in Texas will receive a total of $29,986,791 in this second round.
