WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Roger Williams (R-TX-25) today introduced the Eliminate the Digital Divide Act to empower states to carry out their own broadband programs and ensure low-income individuals have access to low-cost broadband services.
It's a privilege to meet with business owners, local officials, law enforcement and entrepreneurs across our TX-25 counties. As we continue forging ahead in recovery from COVID-19, I'm heartened by the response we see in our communities to help neighbors and adjust operations in order to best meet their needs. I'll continue fighting on behalf of the 25th District so we can return quickly to our Texan way of life.
Take a look below at this week traveling in TX-25:
TRAVIS COUNTY
Texas is the embodiment of freedom in the United States.
We are the most pro-business state in the country, with low taxes, fewer regulations and more freedom for entrepreneurs than anywhere across the United States. It is these principles that allow innovators to thrive and propel our world into the future.
Last week I had the opportunity to meet with our law enforcement officers, small business owners and local officials across the 25th District where I reaffirm my commitment to our partnership and restoring our Texan way of life by cutting taxes and regulations, and delivering greater relief to our communities.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Roger Williams (R-TX-25) introduced the Incentivize Energy-Saving Improvements Act (H.R. 8547) to make permanent 179D of the tax code that offsets the high costs of energy efficient components and systems for commercial, high-rise multifamily residential, health care, institutional, public, and educational facilities.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Roger Williams (R-TX-25) sent a letter to United States Department of State Secretary Mike Pompeo urging immediate action to free Luke Denman and Airan Berry from imprisonment in Venezuela. Williams released the following statement:
Small businesses are the heartbeat of our nation and the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic have affected them in an extraordinary way.
I come to Congress from a retail background, where your livelihood depends on face to face interaction. Though adjustments have been made to keep doors open for the better part of 2020, Central Texas business owners have been dealt a harsh blow with further uncertainty on the horizon.

This month in Los Angeles, our nation witnessed the war on police in action. Fervent calls to "defund the police" have now turned into eliminate the police at any and all costs. Onlookers stood by as an armed gunman approached a police vehicle and shot the two officers sitting inside. Protesters then showed up at the hospital where they were being treated and shouted, "I hope they f------ die."
How did we get to this point?
Our nation is facing a challenge unlike anything we've ever seen. There's no question that our way of life has been disrupted due to this invisible enemy and while there is no rule book on how to overcome a global pandemic in the modern era, I remain focused on providing the resources to restore, rebuild and renew the Texan way of life so we emerge stronger than ever.
