KILLEEN, TX Congressman Roger Williams (R-TX-25) today announced an additional $630,000 grant awarded to Robert Gray Army Airfield by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to help maintain airport safety and infrastructure during the COVID-19 pandemic. The funds, provided through the FAA's Airport Improvement Program (AIP), were made available under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act.

Congressman Roger Williams (R-TX-25) today praised House passage of the Senate Amendment to the Paycheck Protection Program and Health Care Enhancement Act (H.R. 266) following his vote to approve the package. H.R. 266 provides an additional $310 billion for the Paycheck Protection Program, $75 billion in hospital assistance, and $25 billion directed toward testing for COVID-19.

U.S. Rep. Roger Williams, R-Austin, and Gov. Greg Abbott announced grants on Wednesday related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Williams announced a $69,000 grant for the Cleburne Regional Airport, which flows from the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act, also known as CARES. President Donald Trump signed the bill, which Williams supported, into law. It includes $10 billion in funds to be awarded as economic relief to eligible domestic airports affected by COVID-19.

The Federal Aviation Administration on April 15 awarded the Burnet Municipal Airport a $30,000 grant, part of the CARES Act, to help maintain the facility's operations amid the spread of the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, which causes the respiratory disease COVID-19.

United States Congressman Roger Williams (R), who serves Texas District 25 (Dripping Springs), joined over 80 lawmakers in urging U.S. Department of the Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and U.S. Small Business Administration Administrator Jovita Carranza to allow rural hospitals and Rural Health Clinics (RHC's) to be eligible for the Paycheck Protection Program and related financial programs in the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act.

While grocery and convenience stores and similar establishments continue to be open in Copperas Cove, numerous small businesses have shuttered their doors, while riding out the wave of the COVID-19 virus as it reaches into Central Texas.

Among them are places like Pacific Tanning, owned by Hope Wunsch, who was gearing up for her business' 16th anniversary celebration on April 25. That "Sweet 16" celebration is now on hold.
