AUSTIN, TEXAS – Congressman Roger Williams (R-Texas) this morning joined Fox 7 Austin in studio to talk about the unaccompanied alien children (UACs) currently housed at Camp Arrowhead in Somervell County, why they must be reunited with their families in their native countries and how the U.S. can strengthen its border security.

“This administration has led these young people to believe that if they can just get to America or Texas soil they can become citizens, and that’s just not the case,” said Williams.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Roger Williams (R-Texas) joined CNN Newsroom Live to discuss President Barack Obama’s executive order to restrict the purchase and sale of firearms in the United States.

“What President Obama is planning to do will not work… you are penalizing the good guys,” said Williams. “I wish he would focus on fighting terror in this country than attack the second amendment to the constitution.”

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Roger Williams (R-Texas) spoke to KXXV-TV Waco after the Office of the Secretary of Defense notified him that a survey team will assess the possibility of using Fort Hood to house unaccompanied alien children.

"Fort Hood is a military base, not a daycare," said Williams. "This administration needs to return them to their homes and reunite them with their families."

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Roger Williams (R-Texas) spoke on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives in support of fellow Texan Rep. Brian Babin's (R – Texas) amendment to the highway bill that would designate 30 miles of existing freeway from Copperas Cove, Texas to I-35 in Belton as U.S. Interstate 14.

"This route is important for connectivity," said Williams. "It provides a crucial link to Texas military facilities, ports, metropolitan areas and existing and future interstate systems."

WASHINGTON, D.C. – On Wednesday evening the House of Representatives unanimously passed the bipartisan State Licensing Efficiency Act of 2015, H.R.2643, authored by Congressman Roger Williams (R-Texas).

H.R.2643 would give states more control to conduct required background checks on state-regulated non-bank financial services industries, by allowing them to use a federally accepted registry, the Nationwide Multistate Licensing System and Registry (NMLS). The bill does not, however, create any requirements for background checks or fingerprinting.
