One of the promises I made when I came to Congress was to always stand with Israel. The bond between our two nations and people is precious, and I believe they are one of our greatest allies in the world.

This week, President Trump strengthened our commitment to Israel by introducing a Middle East peace plan that provides the basis for historic progress toward peace in the region. Under the plan, Israel's security will be fully protected as Jerusalem's Holy Sites are safeguarded and the freedom of worship is guaranteed for Jews, Christians, Muslims, and people of all faiths.

Former President George H.W. Bush and his wife, Barbara Bush, will be honored with coins bearing their images. Congress approved a resolution making way for the commemorative coins this week.

Under the resolution, the Treasury Department must mint and issue presidential dollar coins with the image of President Bush for a period of one year and bullion coins with the image of his wife during the same time period. The former president and First Lady died seven months apart in 2018.
