I hope everyone had a restful and enjoyable 4th of July weekend. I enjoyed celebrating our great freedoms and independence at the great City of Lakeway parade last weekend.
There is no denying a crisis on our Southern Border exists, unless you're President Joe Biden and his Border Czar Kamala Harris. Only five months into 2021, border patrol experienced 929,868 encounters with illegal migrants crossing our southern border. To put this massive number into perspective, there were only 458,088 encounters in all of 2020. This significant increase shows how the Biden administration's immigration policies are failing.

This week marked the four year anniversary of the congressional baseball shooting. My Republican colleagues and I are forever thankful for the heroic police officers who saved countless lives when a Bernie Sanders supporter opened fire on our morning practice. Their swift action to take down the gunman serves as a reminder we must always support our men and women in blue and stop any efforts to defund or attack our police. If Democrats had their way to defund the police, that morning could have been a lot more deadly.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Roger Williams (TX-25) received an American Conservative Union (ACU) Award today for his 91% lifetime conservative rating. This year marked 50 years of ACU ratings and since its beginning in 1971 has evaluated over 15,000 historic and active lawmakers on their voting history. ACU rated the Congressman on issues from energy and national security to government transparency and accountability.
A one-size fits all approach is rarely effective, especially when it comes to an individual's educational and career path. What works best for one is not what's best for all. It is instilled in kids today that they need to work hard in school so that they can move on to a reputable college, get a degree, and then enter the workforce with a high-paying, long-term job.
WASHINGTON, D.C. –As businesses in Texas' 25th Congressional district and across the country recover from COVID-19, they're being met with severe worker shortages. The National Federation of Independent Business' (NFIB) monthly jobs report stated a record-high 48% of owners in May reported unfilled job openings.

During the latest district work period I had the opportunity to meet with small business owners, local government officials, and many constituents along the way. A topic that came up at nearly every business was their challenge to find workers, a concern that I've heard many times in the past several months. In order for our economy to fully rebound, we must get people back to work and off of the sidelines.
