WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Roger Williams (R-Austin), was honored by National Taxpayers Union (NTU) for having one of the strongest voting records in Congress on supporting lower taxes, limited government, and economic freedom. This year, Rep. Williams is one of only 66 Representatives to have earned the "Taxpayers' Friend Award" for an outstanding voting record during the 2017 Congressional session.

The awards were presented as small retailers across the country gathered in Washington for NRF's Retail Advocates Summit.

Dear Texans,

I hope all of you in our district enjoyed your Labor Day and were able to spend time with family and loved ones. Congress is back in Washington this week after spending the last few weeks in our respective districts and I want you all to know I enjoyed every moment of my time touring Central Texas. Our conversations were constructive and enlightening, and I cannot wait to put your words into action. Below is the recap of my previous week in Texas' 25th District:

His platform is the same as it has always been: lower taxes, less government, cut the spending, defend the borders, listen to your generals, understand the 10th amendment and stand with Israel.

That's what Rep. Roger Williams is all about.

"Our platform is always that," Williams said. "We never get out of that."

Williams was recently touring his far-stretched 25th Congressional District in Burleson and came by the Burleson Star office.

Senior leaders from Fort Hood joined Army leadership and Texas state officials on Friday in standing up the new U.S. Army Futures Command in Austin.

The command is expected to employ about 500 people, primarily civilians, and will operate out of the University of Texas System's new downtown headquarters, which is surrounded by nearby startups and tech incubators.

The Army says it wanted to tap into that workforce.

JOSHUA, TEXAS – Congressman Roger Williams (R-Austin) visited the local U.S. Polyco Facility to meet with their leadership and employees, and to tour their facility. As a business owner his entire working life, Rep. Williams was able to discuss legislation and regulations, such as the new Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, and the impact its having on the business and workers. They also discussed improvements Rep. Williams hopes to see as Congress begins to debate Tax Reform 2.0.
